Developer's Manchester Avenue Lot Work Draws Township Commissioner's Criticism
Malvern based Rabena Brothers Inc. proceeded in clearing a proposed four lot subdivision on Manchester Avenue in Nether Providence without obtaining the necessary municipal permit. This action has drawn criticism from several Township Commissioners, and the developer has been reminded that all township township ordinances need to be followed.
Township code will also require the planting of 30 trees on the lots, which according to the engineer representing the developer might be too many for the site.
Township Commissioners are also considering whether to to require the company to install a sidewalk at the site, located opposite Idlewild Lane, or have the money placed in a township fund to be used for the construction of new sidewalks elsewhere in Nether Providence.
Rabena Brothers have stated the site work could start next March with the construction of one home. Further development would be dependent upon potential buyer interest.
