Sales of Wallingford PA homes have recorded a strong showing in the 4th quarter of 2011 when compared to the same period of last year.
In a reversal of the trend for the previous three quarters, the average price of Wallingford PA homes for the period of October through December, showed a healthy 14% increase over the same time last year. The trend has been declining prices relative to the past year.
The median price in the 4th quarter 2011 registered at $318,225 vs $238,000 in 2010. The median sale price rose substantially compared to last year, when 6 of the 17 sales were under $200,000, whereas in 2011, only 5 of the 34 sales recorded were under $200,000.
Another encouraging sign is that the Days On Market was down 22% from last year.
Interest rates remained at record low levels, setting another low mark at the end of the year, and local activity remained strong through the end of the year. There were 7 homes sold in October 2011, 17 in November 2011, and a surprising number – 10 – sold in December 2011. A good finish to the year just past.
Home prices ranged from a low of $38,000 to a high mark of $715,000 for the quarter.
