St John Avoids Closure And Becomes A Regional Grade School
The Philadelphia Archdiocese Blue Ribbon Commission announced on Friday that it had reversed it’s decision on the closing of St John Chrysostom Grade School in Wallingford. St John will now be merged with the Nativity BVM school in Media forming what the Commission is terming a regional grade school.
This announcement inverts the decision announced several weeks ago that St John would merge with Nativity in Media. Nativity BVM is now slated for closure.
Four other Catholic grade schools in the area were also received the welcome news that they would not be scheduled to close in the fall.
