The Performing Arts Complex Of Delaware County Currently Leases The Summit Property
The future use of the Wallingford Swarthmore School District’s Summit School site is to be explored by a joint committee composed of Township and School District officials.
The District has unsuccessfully attempted to market the site in the past, and has indicated it is once again interested in selling the property located on Plush Mill Road. In March 2013 the District approved a 3 year lease to The Performing Arts Complex Of Delaware County, also known as Stage One, which stages a variety of musical and dramatic performances there.
The site is currently zoned for residential use, and possible alternative uses might be considered.
In the past the District considered the possibility of building a new Wallingford Elementary School on the site, but reconsidered and kept the present Providence Road facility, which was recently renovated and expanded.
