Many people are embracing natural products that are locally produced so it begs the question why do so many people buy artificial Christmas trees. It has been an increasingly hard sell for Christmas tree growers who link themselves with providing locally produced products and the organic food movement.
It is estimated that approximately 95 million U.S. homes display a Christmas tree in their home during the Holiday Season. Just 19% are real trees according to a recent Nielsen survey conducted for the American Christmas Tree Association.
Artificial trees that first debuted in the early 1930’s have been taking a greater share of the market primarily based upon their convenience and lower cost over the long term.
