A Malvern based developer, Progressive New Homes, is proposing to build 32 homes on a 5 acre parcel on Wallingford Avenue. The building tract is on a wooded lot adjacent to Sapovits Park in Nether Providence Township. Original plans called for building 12 single detached homes on the lot carrying a price tag of more than $500,000 each. Responding to input from local residents the plan has been modified to include 32 homes in 16 buildings with a pair of homes contained in each structure. Upper units would have two car garages while the lower unit would have a one car garage. Prices are expected to range between $250,000 to $375,000 which the developer says addresses resident’s concern about affordability. Plans also call for the preservation of two of the five acre parcel with no impact on the stream that runs through the property. The undeveloped woods would serve as a buffer between the park and the development, and it would be deed-restricted to guard against other future other future uses. Progressive New Homes is moving forward with presenting its initial proposal to the township planning commission.
