The Summit School On Plush Mill Road Will Be Demolished
The Nether Providence Township Board Of commissioners voted unanimously at it’s January 23 meeting to award contracts to demolish the deteriorating Summit School on Plush Mill Road opening the site for redevelopment.
The razing of the former school will require extensive asbestos abatement to the tune of $188,500 and an additional $174,000 will be required to tear down the structure. Funding for the project comes from a $500,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Program (RACP) whci was awarded last summer.
The site has been slated for redevelopment as green space that could possibly include a walking trail, snack bar, and a small outdoor amphitheater.
